Under a new law, scheduled to go into effect in 4 days, Danish sports bettors must present their ID card when placing a bet on sports. This plan has been in the works for nearly a decade. Each player will have an ID card with a specific identification number. Players must present the card each time to set deposit limits and cash out winnings. The ID cards are operator specific.
Danish bettors must register once with the individual operator to get their card. After that, the player will have to use the new card every time he or she places a bet in a physical shop. This will also make placing a wager very difficult for anyone under the age of 18. 18 is the legal gambling age in Denmark.
