PayDirt Online Slot Review: Hit Gold with Great Slot

February 24, 2016 Category :Games 0

The Californian Gold Rush took place between 1848 and 1855 after gold was discovered in Coloma at the start of 1848. Life would never be the same again for those prospectors and whilst it might be a push to say life will never be the same after you play PayDirt, if you win big, it will certainly be a whole lot richer!

In case you were wondering why we’re talking about the Gold Rush, “pay dirt” was the name prospectors gave to the ground and gravel they sifted through in search of gold. The Gold Rush-themed online slot PayDirt, available at most of the best US online casinos and all of those that offer games from RTG (Realtime Gaming), doesn’t pay out real gold. That said, on the plus side, you won’t have to sift through gravel to make your money.

PayDirt is a five reel, 25 win line slot and offers a progressive jackpot that currently stands at more than $65,000. That isn’t as big as some of RTG’s finest, which stand at close to $2m and it might not change your life forever but it would certainly be a pretty neat win! Moreover, given the slot has a maximum spin value of $125, you won’t need to hit the progressive in order to land a huge win. Don’t be fooled though, just as in the days of the Gold Rush, PayDirt is open to all, rich and poor, and with a single line spin starting at just a single cent, this slot is great for both the big guns and the average Joes.

Gameplay, sound and graphics are all pretty standard for an RTG slot and US online casino regulars will recognize the fairly typical look, feel and sound of the slot. The gameplay is simple and easy to understand but the graphics and sound are steady, rather than mind blowing.

Perhaps the thing that makes PayDirt really popular is that it offers not one, not two, but three different bonus rounds and these, like the wild symbols, come up a little more frequently than at some other online slots.

All three of the bonus rounds are great fun and likely to lead to a big payout but our favorite is Strike It Lucky. Hit this feature and you’ll get 10 free spins (that can be re-triggered) and shifting wilds.

PayDirt is undoubtedly one of the best slots on offer right now so why not see if you can’t discover gold of your own in the shape of that $65,000 progressive?

Aztec’s Millions Slot Review

February 10, 2016 Category :Games 0

Aztec’s Millions is a fun progressive slot from the superb Realtime Gaming (RTG) software company – who power the games at many of the best US online casinos around. Aztec’s Millions is a form of “sequel slot”, taking the original RTG game Aztec’s Treasure and adding a very nice progressive jackpot, as well as a couple of other nice little features too. Play at the USA online casino of your choice and try to cash in on this great jackpot.

It has the sort of graphics and sound that are pretty standard at RTG slots, which means you can file them under solid, as opposed to groundbreaking and there is nothing too original or spectacular about the basic gameplay either. That isn’t meant as a slight, however, and in fact the five-reel, 25 line format and simple to understand nature of the game is one of its major positives, with anyone who has ever played a modern online slot sure to feel right at home.

The original Aztec game didn’t have as many win lines as Aztec’s Millions but the major difference is the aforementioned progressive jackpot which currently stands at a humungous $1.8m. That’s life changing cash and it is this huge jackpot that has made the game such a hit.

The only downside of the new game is that spins are of a fixed value and, at $5 a pop, may be a little rich for some lower stakes players. You must play all 25 lines with a fixed coin value of 20c a line and whilst that means that any single win is often quite sizeable, it does mean that you’ll be risking $5 on each spin. That said, a risk of five bucks for a potential payout of almost $2m doesn’t seem like such a bad deal to us.

The game is themed around the ancient civilization the Aztec’s – no prizes for guessing that. In terms of the look and feel of the game that means jungle sights and sounds, Aztec queens and kings, jungle animals and the Idol, which is the all-important scatter symbol.

To enter the Aztec’s Millions bonus round you’ll need to find three of the Idols anywhere on the reels and this will unlock a generous and almost-always lucrative bonus feature. Whilst the king and queen symbols reward players with a big payout, it is the Aztec’s Millions symbol itself that progressive bounty hunters should be seeking out. Five of those and you’ll be looking at a payout not far shy of two million big ones and we reckon that’s at least two million reasons to give Aztec’s Millions a go!

Which Slot Should I Play?

January 27, 2016 Category :Games 0

Every US online casino out there has a wide range of slots but that choice can be puzzling for newcomers to online slots sites and casinos. With so many slots to choose from, where do you start? We’ve got a handy guide to the different types of slots out there and what you should look for when deciding which USA online slots to play.

What do I Look for in a Slot?

Choosing a slot is in many ways a personal thing and if you ask 10 different slots fans what their favorite slot is, you’ll probably get 10 different answers. Many people will be heavily influenced by which slots they have won on in the past, believing those to be “easy” or “lucky” slots, but of course they are just random and whether you win or not comes down simply to chance.

More important things to look out for are the return to player (RTP) rate and the prizes that can be won. The RTP is a little like the house edge and gives you an idea of how much value you are getting. A 98% RTP means that 98% of stakes are paid out to the player in winnings and the higher this number, the greater your chances of winning.

Of course, one might sacrifice a little on the RTP for a wide range of reasons and the size of the top payout is one. Many slots, especially progressives, offer a jackpot worth thousands, or even millions of dollars and the chance to win a life-altering sum is well worth losing a few ticks off the RTP.

Other factors are also relevant, chiefly how enjoyable the slot is and how good the graphics and sound are, and many of these can only really be tested by playing the slots. Many US online casinos offer demo or free play versions of their games and this is a good way to see if you like a certain slot before parting with any of your hard-earned cash.

What Types of Slot are There?

Slots come in many different types and progressive slots are the ones to play if you want to win millions of dollars. Realtime Gaming (RTG) offer several slots with jackpots approaching $2m and the thrill of these games is hard to describe.

There are also big brand slots, based on movies such as Batman, which offer the player a narrative and graphics which are more akin to a video game than a slot. 3D slots also offer an immersive experience, whilst at the other end of the spectrum very traditional slots, some with just three reels, tend to compensate for their lack of fancy bells and whistles with very high RTP rates. Suffice to say, there is basically something to suit all tastes.

Progressive Slots Explained

January 13, 2016 Category :Games 0

Progressive slots – also known as jackpot slots – are often the most popular games at USA online casinos, with slots fans loving the opportunity to win life-changing amounts of money for a relatively tiny stake. With the chance to win $1m or more from a spin costing just a dollar or less, it’s easy to see the appeal, so if you’ve never played an online progressive slot or aren’t sure how they work, read on for the lowdown on these great games.

What is a progressive slot?

A progressive slot is a pooled game, that is to say a small portion of the stake from each spin goes towards a large collective, progressive jackpot. Most of your money goes directly to fund prizes on the slot you are playing but a small amount goes to the progressive jackpot and because a large number of slots are contributing to a single fund, the amounts can be truly staggering. A UK customer won around $20m recently, whilst US slots sites have online progressive jackpots of well over $1m and some approaching $2m. Slots are usually pooled together either under the umbrella of a single casino, or by the software company that produces them and Realtime Gaming (RTG), who are recognized as one of the best USA-friendly software companies around, have a good selection of progressive slots.

How do they work?

Playing a progressive slot is very easy, and really if you’ve ever played an online slot then you already know how to play. You can usually check in the game information which symbols you’ll need to hit to trigger the bumper jackpot so just spin away, cross your fingers and wait for that single lucky spin that could change your life forever.

The only thing to be aware of is that progressive slots sometimes don’t contribute towards the rollover requirements of a casino bonus. In addition, you should check that you are eligible for the progressive jackpot if you don’t play the maximum coins (although many RTG progressives have a fixed spin value anyway).

Which slots can I play?

All the best online slots sites have a number of progressives to choose from and they can be found under slots and/or a dedicated progressives tab. Some of the best around include Jackpot Pinatas, Shopping Spree II, Jackpot Cleopatra’s Gold and Aztec’s Millions but why not head to one of your favorite real money online casinos now and see what progressives – and what huge jackpots – are available?

When was the first slot invented: slots history

December 2, 2015 Category :Games 0

Want to know when the first slots were invented and trace the history of one of the most popular online casino games around? You’re in the right place, so whether you play slots in Vegas, at a USA online casino or anywhere else, read on as we take a look at how it all began!

First Ever Slots

A New York firm, Sittman and Pitt of Brooklyn, is said to have invented the first ever slot way back in 1891. It used five drums to hold 50 playing cards and winning combinations were based on poker hands. Due to the high number of possible winning combinations automated payment wasn’t possible, so if your nickel spin was lucky enough to hit a win, you would have to claim your cigar, drink or cigarette from the barman – slots were only in bars in these days.

Around the same time, a Californian named Charles Fey was creating a slot of his own on the other side of the country. His slot was more simplistic, with just three reels and five symbols, one of which was a Liberty Bell which gave the slot its name, whilst the other fruit symbols are responsible for slots being known as fruit machines (especially in the UK).

Automated cash payments were possible on this more simplistic slot and similar machines were developed by other companies as slots swept the nation.

Electromechanical Slots

Through the first half of the 20th century slots changed little until Vegas kings Bally developed the world’s first fully electromechanical slot, Money Honey. This meant the side lever was no longer needed to spin the reels and fully automated payouts were possible for large amounts.

Video Slots

Video slots were the next big step that took offline slots closer to the type of games we know and love today. Initially developed in the mid-1970s these primitive games allowed much improved graphics. The next step was multiple screens, although these didn’t come into being until 1996, with separate bonus rounds and features now possible.

Online and Mobile Slots

These more advanced video slots, in conjunction with internet technology, paved the way for the modern real money online slots we play today, on desktops, tablets and mobiles. Graphics, sound and gameplay are improving all the time, with 3D and perhaps even 4D games coming to the fore.

Slot Review: Jackpot Cleopatra’s Gold

November 19, 2015 Category :Games 0

Jackpot Cleopatra’s Gold is a brilliant progressive slot that is featured at most of the best US online casinos. Powered by Realtime Gaming (RTG), it boasts a huge, life-changing jackpot and one of the best bonus rounds going so read on as we take a closer look at this iconic jackpot slot.

Jackpot Cleopatra’s Gold is a progressive variant of Cleopatra’s Gold, perhaps one of the best-known and most well-loved online slots around. It’s Egyptian theme, complete with atmospheric music, makes playing the slot fun but it’s the free spins bonus round that helped make the original slot one of the very best.

Hit three of the Pyramid scatter symbols and you’ll be given 15 free spins. That in itself may sound fairly standard but the wins during the bonus round are TRIPLED and you can re-trigger a further 15 free spins by finding more scatters. This can lead to some massive wins, but, of course, to land the biggest win of all you’ll need to hit that progressive jackpot.

The big one currently stands at almost $400,000 and you’ll need to get five Cleopatra symbols on a line in order to land the progressive jackpot. Four leads to a very nice payout of 2,500 coins whilst you’ll also be sure to land plenty more besides because the Cleopatra symbol is also the wild, substituting for any symbol other than the Pyramid. What’s more, any wins made using at least one wild payout at double the normal value, so a couple of these on the first two reels is always a great start!

The game itself is, like many of RTG’s online slots, a five reel game, with 25 winning lines. You can’t play less than the full complement of lines, whilst the coin value is fixed giving a pre-set spin of $1 which can’t be altered. Some lower stakes slots fans may not like that but with well over $300,000 up for grabs, we think a dollar a spin is excellent value.

If that $1 spin is a little higher than you would normally play, why not check out our list of casino bonuses? That way you can give this superb progressive slot a try using someone else’s money. Choose a USA online casino that offers online slots for real money and take a shot at winning a huge jackpot. Progressive slot jackpots can get as big as $1 million which is certainly a life changing amount of money. Hit one of these jackpots and never work again!

House Edge of Most Popular Casino Games

September 23, 2015 Category :Games 0

The house edge of a game at a USA online casino explains, in simple terms, the profit the casino expects to make from the game in the long term. Most casino games have a house edge of around 5%, meaning that statistically the casino expects to make around $5 for every $100 staked. Here we take a look at the house edge of some of the most popular online casino games around, starting with online slots.

The house edge in slots is quite high in relatively terms, but this reflects the fact that slots, especially progressive ones, give you the chance to win huge amounts relative to your stake. At blackjack, for example, the biggest payout is 6/4, whilst slots can pay thousands times your spin value, or even millions with the progressives. The house edge for slots is usually around the 5% mark, although it can vary from as little as 1% to as much as 15%. To get started see the best online casinos to play US online slots.

Roulette has a house edge of 2.7% if you play the single zero, European/French version of the game, or almost double that, 5.26%, if you opt for the double version. That should make your choice pretty clear – never play the 0, 00 roulette variant. If, for whatever reason you do play American roulette (with two zeros) then never place a bet on the top line (0, 00, 1, 2 and 3) as that has an even higher house edge of almost 8%! Play roulette online at our top US online casinos.

Blackjack differs from the games above in that the player must use optimum play, or Basic Strategy, in order to reduce the house edge to the bare minimum. Using Basic Strategy the house edge can drop to less than 0.5%, although 0.7% is probably more typical and some variants of the game may have a house edge of much more than that. See the best online casinos to play blackjack online.

Video Poker

As with blackjack, the decisions made by the player impact the house edge and in order to keep the casino’s advantage as low as possible the player should use a video poker game guide. Again, as with blackjack, there are many variants of video poker and the house edge varies. Theoretically in certain instances it can be negative, meaning the player can expect to PROFIT, although in practice a house edge of around 0.5% is more common. Play video poker online at any of our top recommended USA real money online casinos.

Playing Online and Mobile Roulette

September 9, 2015 Category :Games 0

All US online casinos offer the great casino game of roulette, perhaps the most famous casino game in the world. Increasingly a number of the best US legal casinos also offer this glamorous game in their mobile casinos too, and if you’ve never tried playing roulette then you really are missing out. Here we take you through a step by step guide to playing roulette either online or on your mobile. Then choose the USA online casino of your choice and get started playing online.

Join a Casino

We’ve made this easy for you, with our USA online casino reviews offering you the lowdown on the various features and benefits of our partner casinos. All of the casinos we feature here are ones we trust, ones that offer great casino bonuses, have good, reliable software and a wide choice of games and promotions. Joining is easy – just like registering at any online site or making any online purchase.

The best online and mobile casinos may offer more than one style of roulette and the best to opt for is usually European or French roulette. Choose a roulette table with a single zero for the best chance of winning and avoid progressive or bonus versions of roulette, at least while you get to grips with the basics. Navigating to the roulette table should be easy, with simple access from the home page and most casinos offer instant play options as well as download versions. You can also play live dealer roulette where you use a live casino where the dealer is an actual real person in a casino and watch over a live streaming feed. See our USA live online casinos for details and give live roulette a shot.

Betting on Roulette

Betting on roulette is easy because if you choose single zero online roulette, no matter what you bet on, your overall long-term return should remain the same because all bets have the same risk/reward ration. Betting on red/black, odd/even or high/low is a good place to start to get a handle on the basics, with this roulette bet having just under a 50% chance of winning and returning even money, so if you bet $10 and win you get $20 back.

For higher risk bets that offer more return you can bet on almost any combination of numbers, right down to a single number which pays out at 35/1, meaning a $10 win will return $360!

Mobile or Online

Modern mobile casinos mean you can play roulette online whenever and wherever you like as long as you have internet access. It’s so convenient and most mobile casinos are instant play – just visit the casino on your cell and away you go! See the top instant play casinos we recommend here at US Casino Report. Of course they all accept US players.
